Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe:

Nature in Textiles

Show: January 14 – February 22

Opening: January 13 from 6 to 7:30 pm

Nature is the main source of inspiration for my textile art.  The points of origin are flowers, trees, grass, leaves and microorganisms.   I am not concerned with creating a lifelike reproduction, let alone an exact copy of any forms existing in nature.  My quest is for the expression of movement and lightness which will in turn inspire and move the viewer.”

I find that the juxtaposition of contemporary, figurative subjects

paired with a very traditional form of quilting -- after all, there is

nothing more basic than sewing squares of commercially

available material together and then quilting them-- leads to

interesting and beautiful images.
